Tipi Calendar 2026: January. Sasquatch peeking through. Lisa Sanchez, Wapato, WA

Tipi Calendar 2026 Now Available

This is the second year that we have made a beautiful calendar with the many photos that we receive from our happy customers. The calendar measures 8.5” x 11” and is printed on sturdy matte cardboard, so solid that it stands on its own.
The calendar costs $29 + shipping and all profits are going to NAYO, the Native American Youth Organization on the Pine Ridge Reservations. Last year, we sold 49 calendars and were able to donate $671 to them. If you would like to support our efforts to create a substantial donation for NAYO, please email or call us. Thank You.

COMPANY NEWS

Organic or Not?

About 10 years ago, we shifted the purchase of all fabrics to organic cotton as base material for all our production. Our main reason for this commitment was our sincere care for nature and our sense of responsibility towards people and the planet. We purchase organic cotton to help the farmers in India with their health and their independency from companies such as Monsanto, which are ruthless in forcing them to purchase their GMO seeds and fertilizers.
Unfortunately, the economic landscape has changed dramatically in the last year. Customers are delaying discretionary spending and are becoming more and more price sensitive. The price of cotton and shipping costs from India has increased, India got hit with 50% tariffs and the cost for the flame resistant treatments has skyrocketed. While in the past we were able to absorb the higher price for organic cotton, we are now at a point where keeping our prices somewhat stable is the most important factor. Taking all this into account, we decided to purchase non-organic cotton, so we can keep prices as low as possible while the economic downturn and uncertainty continues. We hope that this is only a temporary decision and once sales increase again, we can switch back to organic cotton, honoring our Mother Earth.
We are still offering organic cotton, and if you are specific about purchasing a tipi made out of organic cotton exclusively, please specify this when ordering and we will add a surcharge of $70-$140, depending on the size of your tipi and the items you are purchasing.

MORE ABOUT OUR TIPIS

ART DEPARTMENT

Artwork Themes

The new year is starting and campgrounds and retreats are preparing for their summer season. This is the time when we are planning and working on multiple tipi orders that go to one customer. We often work on a set of 3 or 5 tipis, sometimes we get an order of 6 or even 10 large, painted tipis. Those projects need a lot of preparation before we even start the layout and the first brush stroke. We need to clarify the vision, the style and details desired, the budget that is available and a realistic timeline for production. Below is an example for the first step to create 6 tipis for “The Edge”.
Most of the times, the customer picks images from our website or from the internet and our art director discusses how they would translate into tipi art. We then draw a rough sketch if desired, give a cost estimate and have the customer sign off on the project. We only paint a tipi once it is fully paid for. Once the tipi is painted it cannot be returned, so clear communication and a highly trained artistic staff is essential to make those project work. Look out for a story of “Tipi Vacation at The Edge” in one of our spring/summer newsletters, we can’t wait to see those gorgeous tipis set up.

WE CARE

The Red Cloud “BRIDGE” Program

We are proud to help support the Red Cloud Renewable BRIDGE Program, a hands-on solar training initiative that empowers Native American women with the skills to start careers in renewable energy. Keva New Holy is one of the recent participants and we congratulate her to her achievement. The program combines online coursework, practical solar installation training, and supportive services such as housing, meals, travel, and childcare to ensure participants have every opportunity to succeed.
As part of our commitment, we donated $3,000 in 2025 to support the BRIDGE Program’s mission and continue to provide ongoing support to Red Cloud Renewable’s initiatives. By investing in this program, we help create economic opportunities, promote energy independence, and strengthen community resilience within Native American communities.
