COMPANY NEWS
The Administration’s latest tariff ‘tax’ is going to hit tipi manufacturers specifically hard, as most of our cotton is produced in India and Pakistan, and milled in India. It takes roughly six months from ordering bulk fabric with the supplier in India to receiving it inhouse for cutting and sewing. Unless these tariffs are short lived, the price of our raw material will increase up to 75% for the next season, considering increased cost of goods, higher transportation costs and Trump’s tariffs.
If you are thinking of getting a tipi or ordering a replacement cover, now is the time !!
Tipi Door Solutions
The Sioux style tipi traditionally has a door hole which can be covered with blankets, hides or a canvas door flap. Over the years, though, we have experimented with the entry to a tipi and have adapted it to the needs of easy access with little bending or stepping, wheelchair accessibility, ventilation, or added security. We can adapt your tipi cover with an entry straight to the ground (see above), a secure zipper/screen door, a summer door or an ADA entrance – Just ask us..
ART DEPARTMENT
Pam’s Vision for a Tipi Glamping Resort
We are very excited to be working together with Pam McGlone, the owner and creative genius behind the The Edge, Cave Run’s Glamping Getaway. Pam’s glamping resort will be opening in August with 6 tipis and 2 geodomes. Each tipi will have specific, custom artwork that reflects an aspect of that region of Kentucky. All tipis will be set up at the riverfront and will open to the lake. As you approach from the resort road, all 6 tipis will be visible from the back. Because of this, the focus of the main design elements were at the back of the tipi
.
The above and following images display the “Reel Deal” tipi design, 1 of 6 tipis designed for Pam. Kris created a sketch revolving around the idea of musky fishing and a mountain lake landscape. Pam wanted her to include a sunset and kayakers in the background. Our team of artists went to work and painted this magnificent 22ft cover in three days. We look forward to sharing photos of Pamela’s tipi village setup at her new glamping resort soon.
